Researchers hack Wi-Fi driver to breach laptop

Using a fuzzing tool called LORCON security researchers David Maynor and Jon Elich have been able to breach a laptop through its wireless driver. They plan on releasing their findings at BlackHat 2006 in August.

Exploits Out for 1 in 3 Microsoft Bugs

Although security experts said Tuesday that the previous day’s patching of 21 Microsoft vulnerabilities shouldn’t present users with any major threats, closer examination of the updates a day later indicates different. Exploits or proof-of-concept code samples are already available for more than a third of the patched bugs, for example.
